Investing in Young People Means Investing in the Future

Today, we celebrate World Youth Day. A moment to recognize the potential, resilience, and dreams of young people around the globe. More than a day of awareness, it is a call to action. Because if we want to build a sustainable, equitable, and hopeful future, we must invest in the generation that will shape it.

At BOOST The World Foundation, we believe that every child and young person has the potential not only to transform their own life but also to create positive change within their community and beyond. That is why our work is not simply about running projects—it is about empowering people.

Young People Are Not a Problem to Solve, but a Force to Develop

Too often, young people are viewed through the lens of what they lack: education, opportunities, employment, or resources. At BOOST The World, we choose to focus on what they already possess: talent, creativity, determination, and hope.

At our project site in Hoedspruit, South Africa, we are creating an environment where children and young people can learn, grow, and discover their potential. Through sustainable agriculture, environmental education, leadership development, and practical life skills, they gain more than knowledge. They develop confidence, responsibility, and the ability to become changemakers in their own communities.

In doing so, we contribute to multiple United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including Quality Education, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Climate Action, and Reduced Inequalities.

Learning by Doing

Some of life’s most valuable lessons are learned outside the classroom.

When young people work in our vegetable gardens, they learn about food security, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. When they participate in leadership programs, they discover their voice, learn to collaborate, and develop the confidence needed to pursue their dreams.

Time and again, we see the impact firsthand. A young person who feels seen begins to grow. A young person who is given opportunities starts to take responsibility. A young person who gains hope can inspire an entire community.

Guided by Love, Care, and Wisdom

At the heart of everything we do are three universal values: Love, Care, and Wisdom.

Love means recognizing the value and dignity of every child.

Care means taking responsibility for one another and for the world we share.

Wisdom means helping young people make choices that create lasting impact for themselves, their communities, and future generations.

These values are the foundation of tomorrow’s leaders. Leaders who aspire not only to personal success but also to making the world a better place.

Turning Dreams into Action

World Youth Day reminds us that the future does not begin tomorrow. It begins with the choices we make today. Every investment in a young person is an investment in a stronger, more resilient, and more compassionate society.

That is why BOOST The World continues to build opportunities for children and young people to learn, lead, and thrive. We are creating a place where talent is discovered, potential is unlocked, and dreams can become reality.

Join the Movement: Become One of The 1000

To empower even more young people, we need people like you to stand with us.

The 1000 is a growing community of committed supporters who believe in the power of youth. By becoming a member, you directly contribute to education, leadership development, food security, and sustainable opportunities for children and young people in South Africa.

Every Child Deserves a Healthy Start and a Bright Future

In this newsletter, we take you to South Africa, share a personal story from Ivo, and explain why we are looking for 1,000 people who want to contribute monthly.

We also share a first announcement of something special that will take place later this year.

Because behind every contribution lies something bigger: new opportunities, real change, and hope for the future.

Save the date – October 2, 2026

On this evening, we are doing something special.

Boost the World is organizing its first benefit dinner.
An evening focused on connection, impact, and creating something together that goes beyond ourselves.

What exactly to expect, we will keep to ourselves for a little while longer.
But one thing is certain: this will be an evening you don’t want to miss.

Mark October 2 in your calendar.
We will share more soon.

Update from South Africa

Update from South Africa

At the moment, a lot of work is being done in South Africa on the land and gardens at the Boost the World site. After the heavy rainfall in February and March, the focus is on recovery.

That rainfall had a major impact on the surroundings. Large floods washed away significant parts of our garden and buildings.

Our on-site team has been working hard to repair the damage and to prevent this from happening again in the future.

Just a few kilometers from the site, a bridge has been completely washed away, making important routes temporarily impassable.

This also directly affects the people on and around the site, as one of the main access roads for the team is currently closed.

At the same time, progress continues. New plants and trees are being planted to bring the area back to life.

And on April 1, something special started!

Eighteen young mothers have started a training program on the grounds. They are learning how to grow their own food, maintain the land, and how to build this in a sustainable way for the future.

Not only for themselves, but also for their children.

The mothers receive a salary for 50% of the work they do. They dedicate the other 50% voluntarily to help build the estate and the future of this place.

This means that here we are not only restoring nature, but also building independence, knowledge, and new opportunities.

What makes this place so special is the team that works here every day:
Ivo Kemmink – Construction Director
Barrie                 – Director of Boost the World South Africa
Mr Nkuna        – Manager of the grounds and responsible for the gardens and maintenance
Fortune             – Program Manager ‘Mothers-in-Farming’
Emotion            – Operational Manager

Step by step we are building a place here where nature restoration, education, and community come together. Thank you for being a part of it.

Ivo’s experience in South Africa

Ivo recently returned from South Africa, where he visited the two hectares of land on behalf of BOOST The World, on which we are building a special future place.

The purpose of his trip was clear: to map out the current situation, make plans together with the local team, and explore how we can develop the site as strong and sustainable as possible. Together with Barrie, our Director of BOOST The World South Africa, and Mr. Nkuna, who takes care of the land and gardens daily, he walked around the site, looked at the possibilities, and discussed the next steps.

During his visit, it became clear how much potential this place has. Not only because of the space and nature, but especially because of the people who work there daily with dedication. Ivo saw how much is already being built with limited resources and how much local motivation exists to create something lasting here.

The trip also brought new insights. Based on what he saw on-site, work is now being done on renewed building plans for an even stronger learning community. A place where nature restoration, education, and opportunities come together.

What Ivo especially took away? That impact starts on the ground itself. By being present, working together, and listening carefully, the best plans emerge.

A journey with valuable insights, new energy, and even more confidence in what is possible here.

Join the 1,000

Thank you for taking the time to read, be involved, and contribute in your own way.

Whether you share, empathize, or give monthly: you help make opportunities a reality.

Are you joining the 1,000?

With gratitude,
Team BOOST The World

Children’s Rights, Wellbeing, and Dreams for a Sustainable World

🌍 Universal Children’s Day: Children’s Rights, Wellbeing, and Dreams for a Sustainable World

Today, November 20th, we celebrate Universal Children’s Day – a day dedicated to raising awareness about children’s rights and wellbeing across the globe. At BOOST The World, this theme is close to our hearts. Children are not only the future; they reflect the values we live by today.

In Hoedspruit, South Africa, we work every day to create an environment where children have access to healthy food, education, and a safe space to play and learn. But our mission goes beyond physical resources. We believe every child has the right to love, care, and wisdom — universal values that form the foundation of a peaceful and sustainable society.

Children’s Rights Are Human Rights

The right to education, protection from violence, access to healthcare, and the right to dream – these are not privileges but fundamental rights. Yet, for millions of children worldwide, these rights remain out of reach. BOOST The World is committed to changing that, both locally and globally.

How Can We Contribute in the Netherlands?

We can make a difference here too. For example, by creating school projects focused on children’s rights and the power of dreams. Imagine children learning about their own rights and those of others, while exploring how they can help build a world where peace, sustainability, and equality are the norm.

We invite schools to collaborate with BOOST The World on creative projects where children express their dreams for the future — through art, stories, presentations, or community actions. Dreams of a world where love, care, and wisdom are shared by all people, regardless of origin, belief, or background.

📩 Would your school like to join? Contact us at info@boosttheworld.org and discover how we can make an impact together.

Building a Better World Together

Universal Children’s Day reminds us that we all play a role in the wellbeing of children. Whether you are a parent, teacher, volunteer, or simply someone who cares about the future — your involvement matters.

At BOOST The World, we continue to build a world where children can thrive. Will you join us? Send your email to info@boosttheworld.org.

Leadership from the Heart changes the World

We can endlessly talk about the past. About why something didn’t work. Why it was difficult. Why abundance or growth seemed to be ‘for others.’

But here is the truth that we live every day within BOOST The World: true change doesn’t start in your past but in your presence. It doesn’t matter how much you have struggled, how limited your start seemed, or how often you have fallen along the way.

Those are stories that have shaped you, but they don’t define who you are today.

Reality moves with who you now choose to be.
Not with your old wounds.
Not with the excuses your mind whispers.
Not with the patterns you are trying to heal.
Heart-centered leadership asks for something different: that you dare to be present with an open heart in the midst of chaos; that you choose to lead not from survival, but from connection, compassion, and truth.

At BOOST The World, we believe that leadership does not work in time. It works in frequency. In identity. In decision. Every time you choose love over fear, collaboration over control, service over status, you not only change your own life, but also the world around you.

So ask yourself today:
Who am I if I stop carrying old stories?
Who am I if I no longer have to justify my limitations?
Who am I if I truly believe that I can embody abundance, power, and freedom NOW, and that my choices have an impact on others?
Because that is heart-centered leadership. It is not a position. It is a choice. A choice to lead from your heart, and to impact the world through who you are.

From BOOST The World, we invite leaders to remember their hearts, live their truth, and make a difference from within. Join our movement. Not because you are perfect. But because you are willing to be present.

Be the change. Lead from love.

World Food Day 2025 – Building Sustainable Food Security in Hoedspruit

Today, October 16th, we celebrate World Food Day — a global moment to reflect on the importance of food security and sustainable agriculture. At BOOST The World in Hoedspruit, South Africa, this is not just a theme — it’s our daily mission.

From Vulnerability to Resilience

Hoedspruit is a region facing challenges like drought, poverty, and limited access to fresh produce. BOOST The World has established a nursery: an educational garden where fruits and vegetables are grown not only for consumption, but also as a learning space. Children and youth are taught about permaculture, regenerative farming, and the importance of biodiversity. This is how food security is cultivated from the ground up.

Sustainability at the Core

Our approach is built on three pillars:

  1. Local production: We grow seasonal crops such as tomatoes, spinach, papaya, and beans. This reduces dependence on external food sources and lowers the ecological footprint.
  2. Water management: In a region where water is scarce, we invest in sustainable solutions like drip irrigation, rainwater harvesting, and — soon — our own water source and tank. This enables farming even during dry spells.
  3. Education and empowerment: Young people learn how to grow their own food, care for the soil, and collaborate to build resilient communities. Food security becomes a shared responsibility.

Food as a Bridge to the Future

BOOST The World connects food security to broader themes like leadership, sustainability, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our garden is not just a place of growth, but also of dialogue — about climate change, inequality, and the power of local solutions.

Creating Impact Together

On World Food Day, we honor the strength of communities to become self-sufficient. BOOST The World shows that sustainable food security starts with education, collaboration, and respect for nature. Every child deserves access to nutritious food — today and tomorrow.

Support Sustainable Change

Would you like to contribute to food security in Hoedspruit? You can! With a small or large donation, you help fund water solutions, seeds, education, and the expansion of our nursery. Donate easily via our website or through the crowdfunding platform WhyDonate.

Empowering Girls with Love, Care, and Wisdom

October 11 – International Day of the Girl

Today, the world pauses to recognize the strength, potential, and rights of girls everywhere. But this day is more than a celebration — it’s a call to action. Millions of girls still face barriers to education, safety, and equality. At BOOST The World, we believe that true transformation begins with equal opportunities, mutual respect, and the protection of youth rights — with a special focus on girls.

Why This Day Matters

The International Day of the Girl, established by the United Nations, shines a light on the unique challenges girls face globally — from child marriage and gender-based violence to lack of access to education and healthcare. But it also highlights their resilience, creativity, and leadership. When girls are empowered, entire communities thrive.

BOOST The World: A Movement Rooted in Values

At BOOST The World, we are building a future where every child — regardless of gender — can grow into a conscious, compassionate, and courageous leader. Our foundation is built on three core values:

  • Love: We see and value every child for who they are. We create safe, inclusive spaces where girls feel seen, heard, and supported.
  • Care: We invest in their well-being — physically, emotionally, and socially — ensuring they have the tools to thrive.
  • Wisdom: We equip them with knowledge, critical thinking, and leadership skills to shape a more just and sustainable world.

Girls’ Education: The Game Changer

Education is not a privilege — it’s a fundamental right. Yet millions of girls are still denied this right due to poverty, cultural norms, or lack of infrastructure. BOOST The World is committed to changing this reality:

  • We are developing a learning community where girls can access education, mentorship, and leadership development.
  • We promote peer-to-peer learning, empowering girls to support and inspire one another.
  • We integrate the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into our programs, helping girls understand their rights and their role in global change.

Equality Begins with Respect

Equality is not just about access — it’s about recognition. It means valuing girls’ voices, dreams, and decisions. At BOOST The World, we don’t just work for young people — we work with them. Girls are not passive recipients of aid; they are active agents of change. Their voices shape our programs, their ideas drive our innovation.

Why Your Support Matters Now

To continue this vital work, we need your help. Your donation can:

  • Provide girls with access to education and leadership programs.
  • Create safe, nurturing environments where love, care, and wisdom are at the heart of learning.
  • Strengthen youth rights and empower girls to reach their full potential.

Every contribution — big or small — makes a difference. Together, we can build a world where girls don’t just survive, but thrive.

👉 Donate today and help us give girls the future they deserve.

Peace Begins with Sharing Love, Care, and Wisdom

Today, September 21st, we celebrate the International Day of Peace – a moment to reflect on our shared longing for a world free from violence, division, and injustice. At BOOST The World, we believe peace is not a distant ideal, but a daily practice rooted in the sharing of three universal values: love, care, and wisdom.

💛 Love as the Foundation

Love is the force that connects people. Not just romantic love, but the kind that shows up as respect, compassion, and solidarity. When we treat each other with love – in families, communities, and organizations – we create space for trust. Love helps us bridge differences and prevent conflict. In our projects, like the BOOST nursery in Hoedspruit, South Africa, we see how loving collaboration between youth, farmers, and volunteers leads to growth – both in crops and in relationships.

🤲 Care as the Compass

Care is love in action. It’s the willingness to take responsibility for one another and for our planet. Care means listening, helping, protecting, and supporting. In a world often driven by profit and speed, care is a radical act. By placing care at the heart of our work – through sustainable agriculture and education – we build resilient communities where peace can take root.

🧠 Wisdom as the Guide

Wisdom is more than knowledge. It’s the ability to understand what truly matters and to make choices that benefit the whole. Wisdom requires reflection, learning from experience, and asking deep questions. At BOOST The World, we encourage young people to develop their own wisdom – through dialogue, storytelling, and connection with nature. Wisdom leads to insight, and insight leads to peace.

🌍 Peace as a Result of Sharing

When we not only cherish love, care, and wisdom but actively share them with others, something powerful happens. We build bridges instead of walls. We create space for collaboration, healing, and hope. Peace is not a destination, but a process that begins with every choice we make – how we speak, how we act, how we show up.

On this International Day of Peace, we invite everyone to reflect on these values. How can you show love today? Where can you offer care? What wisdom do you want to share?

At BOOST The World, we believe peace begins within – and spreads when we share our values. Together, we can build a world where peace is not the exception, but the norm.
