BOOST The World | Teaching the Young to Become Leaders

South Africa:
A Land of Beauty and Challenge

South Africa is a country of remarkable culture, landscapes and diversity. It’s also where BOOST The World is building its first learning community, together with the people who live there.

Why This Matters

Education works best when the basics are already in place: clean water, healthy food and a safe place to learn. That’s why we start there. Here’s what we’ve built so far:

Our Journey Began in 2018

It started with a crèche: a playground, eco-toilets, a vegetable garden and nutrition support for the children who came through our doors. From there, thanks to our donors and sponsors, we purchased two hectares of land in Hoedspruit, near Acornhoek.

Today, between 30 and 75 children attend regularly, and that number keeps growing as more families in the area learn what we’re building.

Many families here rely on a single income that supports several relatives. Healthy food and education aren’t always affordable, and that makes it harder for children to get the stable start they need.

We’re building toward a community with its own water well, a thriving vegetable garden, an orchard, a school and a shared space to gather. Step by step, together with the community.

Families often go two or three days without clean water. We are determined to change that. Imagine a community with its own well, a thriving vegetable garden, an orchard, a school, and a place of worship. That’s the future we’re building – together.

the reality today

Hoedspruit is about an hour from Kruger National Park. Tourism creates some jobs, but many families still get by on a single income that supports several relatives. Healthy food and education are often out of reach financially, which makes it harder for children to get a stable start.

Education opens doors. That’s why we build learning spaces where young people gain real, practical skills and grow into leaders in their own community. Our approach connects knowledge with practical experience, so young people can see how their choices shape their own future.

Whats needed now

Clean water

A private well with pump, pipes and a water tank, plus expert drilling. Right now, water is delivered by truck, which is costly and unreliable.

Electricity

Solar panels to power pumps, lighting and security, enabling the gardens and facilities to run safely after dark.
